This review is taken from the 2010 edition.
The One Ten Bar and Grill offers a calm and classy escape from the more jumping bars and restaurants that populate Glasgow's Bath Street. While there's nothing strikingly distinctive about this establishment in comparison to any other hotel restaurant and bar, the One Ten does succeed in offering large-portioned, tasty dishes in slightly more salubrious surroundings than its neighbouring joints. While dishes seem to be priced slightly above average – as is often the case in hotels – the food isn't easily faulted. The choice on offer might be somewhat predictable, but it lives up to the 'grill' in its name, with perfectly cooked steaks and burgers; and the brownie and ice-cream sundae is reason alone to visit. The varied crowd includes hotel residents, businessmen and couples, and the place maintains an air of relaxed formality with booths aplenty and the option to dine in the bar, with a menu that reflects this option. While the service is friendly, it can seem a little haphazard. But that aside, the One Ten meets expectations and offers a good example of hotel fare.
- High point: Big, satisfying portions
- Low point: Inconsistent service
