This review is taken from the current (2012) edition.
With Scotland's largest Chinese supermarket sitting alongside the restaurant, See Woo clearly has a plethora of ingredients at its disposal. An extensive yet moderately priced menu, specialising in Cantonese and Pekinese cuisine, are tangible signs of having a 60,000 acre food emporium as a neighbour. This feeling of extended capacity is most readily felt in the fact the restaurant can host 500 diners, a figure that can give a canteen-like air to proceedings. After sifting through various banquet choices, the menu is neatly laid out with a clear emphasis on fish. The quality of the seafood is indisputable, with impressive king prawns standing up to a bold szechuan sauce and encased, live lobsters available for the customer’s selection. Chinese hotpots allow diners to choose from a vast selection of raw ingredients and are required to cook them in a mild broth. While a little laborious, the DIY element is certainly authentic, refreshing and conducive to sharing. The hotpots also showcase some of See Woo’s more unfamiliar culinary items, so expect an occasional sighting of frog’s legs or pig’s heart.
- High point: Authentic and exotivc ingredients
- Low point: Power ballads blasting from the stereo

See Woo is by far the best Chinese and oriental restaurant in the West of Scotland if not the whole of Scotland. The fact is that they are totally consistent: the food is always the very best quality, local Chinese and mixed Eurasian families like my own go there because we can be assured of a very fine meal and welcoming and friendly staff. What's more, we lived in Hong Kong for 8 (and my wife 10) years, the food at See Woo is the same, exactly the same, quality that you would find in a very good quality restaurant in Hong Kong. Can't beat it for entertainment at Chinese New Year either, with Kung Fu shows and firecrackers going off outside, it feels like you've stepped into a Jackie Chan movie every time! it's always a pleasure to go there and we go there as often as we can.

My family and I had our Christmas 2007 dinner at the Sea Woo and we enjoyed it so much we have booked for our 2008 dinner also.
The food was of excellent quality and value for money. We have eaten here several times both at lunchtime and during the evening, and we thoroughly recommend this restaurant for local and tourist dining.
Strongly recommended.

Very special seafood restaurant.
We have been visiting this restaurant for several times and the quality of the food were pretty good and steady and as well as the service. The Chinese Hot-pot is one of the best in its kind in Glasgow with lots of freshly prepared vegetables, meats and seafood and very cheap in value. Will definitely visit the restaurant again.
