A shopping mall wouldn’t be everyone’s choice of an ideal dining experience, and slap bang in the middle of the main food court, Ocean Kitchen Bar & Grill isn’t the most atmospheric dining experience. However, if you’re lucky enough to get a seat by the window or snag an outside table during the summer, it won’t take much to imagine yourself aboard a great big liner docked in the Port of Leith, next to the Royal Yacht Britannia. If this is the case, you might want to steady your sea legs with some of the fishy options on the family-friendly menu. Crispy beer-battered tiger prawns will come as a pleasant surprise to a disorientated food snob, while mini Oriental crab cakes are pleasant, though lacking a bit in flavour. Haddock and chips is a better than expected main, while landlubbers can try one of the selection of burgers, which come well-done with top-notch crispy chips. Desserts are nothing to write home about, but kids will be desperate to drown themselves in a knickerbocker glory.

I really though the service in here was very poor. When we arrived we were confused as to whether it was open. When I approached a member of staff he stared at me from behind the hot plate, then slammed some pot lids and then disappeared. I then went of to help myself to a sandwich and he then returned to ask, 'did I want something hot or not?' I said no thank you and he walked off again.
My partner had a tuna sandwich and the tuna looked so try and smell he did not touch it.
Not a good experience, awful staff.
