Although the Balti Club (known for 22 years as the Fast Food Bar) is essentially a takeaway, it produces food that some of the fancier Indian restaurants in Glasgow would be proud to serve. Its bright lighting, basic white tiles and slightly wobbly stools may not make it somewhere you particularly want to linger, but the 'finest Royal Indian and European cuisine' could well have you coming back for more. The pakoras, despite being slightly alarmingly coloured, are delicious and come in a variety of flavours, including brie and spinach or cauliflower and cheese. The menu is impressively diverse for a takeaway, so as well as the usual choices of korma and vindaloo, there are house specialties. Butter massala is made with barbecued meat cooked in tomato slices, while black pepper and lime curry is made with coriander, green peppers and crisp onions. Even the rice selection is a bit out of the ordinary, coming with chickpeas, green peas or egg and mushroom. Those after a smaller meal can order from the reasonably priced 'quick snack' menu where dishes including lamb bhoona or chicken tikka and chips cost £2.95.

this is the best indian in glasgow! plus the staff are friendly and deliveries are prompt and hot. Great value for money in the set menu for 2. Enjoy!
