Marcella's Italian Bakery is cheeky little retro café/takeaway that serves some of the best, and cheapest, pasta in town. The interior is cluttered and confusing, but the food on offer makes up for the rather eclectic surroundings. The lasagne is one of the most popular dishes, but owner Angelo Gibilisco recommends the spaghetti bolognaise. With the perfect mix of tomato and mince, and a delicious and deliberate sweetness, at a mere £2.50 this dish is a must-try. And try, and try again. Also on offer are sandwiches, pizzas and a variety of sweet treats; the apple pie would tempt even the hardest of fitness fanatics. The best of Italian home-cooking, with no muss or no fuss.
