Occupying a prime spot overlooking Victoria Dock and part of Dundee’s Apex Hotel, Metro is classy, uncluttered and bright, thanks to a wall-length window which allows for views of the gently lapping waves. A friendly welcome awaits from genial, efficient staff. The food is beautifully presented, a trait which is mirrored in taste. A starter of smooth, rich chicken parfait is complemented by a sweet plum and apple chutney, while teriyaki marinated pork is accompanied by thick egg noodles and a flavourful spicy sauce. What’s more, portions are very generous and the atmosphere is relaxed, making it the perfect dockside environment to linger over a long lunch.
