Looking for quick, good value meal? Head for Naked Soup. As the name would suggest, soup is the speciality, with a daily choice of four excellent home-made varieties. The lentil and coconut is thick and creamy with a little hint of spiciness, while the carrot and courgette is light, fresh and delicate. They come in three sizes – small, medium or gargantuan – and all are served with a large chunk of light, fluffy bread. The set-price lunch deal is particularly good value, netting you a small soup, sandwich or small salad, piece of fruit and soft drink or coffee/tea. However, it's not only about soup: there are casserole options and a quite extensive breakfast menu that includes organic porridge or waffles served with chocolate sauce. Naked Soup has extended its opening hours in order to add a set-price weekday supper consisting of soup and a Cajun chicken or steak sandwich. The premises are small and lunchtime can be very busy, but service is invariably prompt.
- High point: Chunk of caramel shortbread served with tea
- Low point: Not enough seats
