Business appears to be booming at this Shawlands deli. It's only two years since its launch under the direction of Colin Campbell, but one wonders how the neighbourhood survived for so long without such a quality food shop. Sweet things, such as dark chocolate brownies or caramel shortcake, are made daily. Savoury options can include a rich Bolognese lasagne or mildly-spiced, moist fish-cakes with thin crumble crusts. Shelves are full of dry goods, organic coffee and even rare single malts. Campbell is a chef and amateur wine buff who stocks what he likes. The shop has developed a reputation for its fine vintages, many of which are not found elsewhere. Indeed, the number of bins has gone from 30 to 120.
