Not open as this edition of The Eating & Drinking Guide went to press, Sloan's is being renovated in anticipation of its being re-re-launched - this time by the Baby Grand Group (after the Republic Bier Halle folk failed to keep it running as the Bastille in 2006). Indications are that it will trade much as it ever did, with bar and dining space on the ground floor, private rooms on the first floor and a rather wonderful ballroom above that. [Not yet open as the guide went press.]
