Nestling on the north side of the squinty bridge, or Clyde Arc to give it its official title, India Quay is a popular spot for a curry with its . Certainly the beautifully puffed and crisped puri and perfectly cooked chickpeas that make up the starter would back this up. A minor irritation when ordering mains is that rice is served on the plate rather than separately, making it difficult for groups or pairs to order a portion to share. That quibble aside, the South Garlic Chilli Chicken is delicious, with enough chilli kick to warm but not overpower the palate, letting the full flavour come through. The same goes for the brandy-enriched Chicken Tikka Sharabi, which has a delightful depth of flavour. A noteworthy point about India Quay is that it’s close proximity to the SECC means it’s one of the few Glasgow restaurants to offer a post-theatre as well as a pre-theatre menu.
- High point: Fantastic puri
- Low point: Rice not served separately

After reading a newspaper review praising the food, we visited on a Saturday night. The restaurant is indeed stylish. Our waitress was nice. However, the pakora starter was awful (a first!) and my Chicken Karahi
was like a chicken stew in a transport caff. Was it a bad night?
