Silver Bowl has been serving the Edinburgh community for nearly 40 years, and if the fact that it now has three successful branches isn't proof enough of its quality then a simple taste of one of its many dishes will be. In truth, even before you start tasting the portents are good - the food looks beautiful. Simple and elegant presentation cannot be easy in the takeaway business, but this place has the knack. The menu includes rice paper-wrapped prawns that do not disappoint - deliciously sweet and juicy, they set the tone for dishes such as meltingly tender chicken in black bean sauce. There is nothing overly sauced or spiced, just a (huge) selection of aromatic dishes that will cheer any jaded tongue.
