This review is taken from the current (2011) edition.
The Brasserie at Òran Mór is certainly Scottish in decor, with large feminine Glasgow style prints on the walls, a multitude of malts behind the bar and three enormous in-demand green booths. Tucked down a short flight of stairs from the main bar, the unmistakable sounds of pub chatter and clatters bleed into the slightly more refined dining area. Despite the gorgeous appearance of the restaurant it can’t shake off the sounds, smell – and ultimately atmosphere – of a bar. That said, there is sophistication in starters such as a wild mushroom ravioli nestled in a parmesan tuile, dressed with tarragon essence – a silky smooth, rich starter. Main courses include a duo of game – pigeon and venison, served with dauphinoise potatoes and creamed cabbage, or firm fillets of monkfish, salmon and hake, with delicate saffron potatoes and soft, buttery baby vegetables. It is probably the 'pre-gig' menu that pulls the punters in here and there's a steady stream of female diners who then move up the stairs for a drink and a spot of live music.
- High point: Looks the part
- Low point: Lacks personality

The Brasserie at Òran MórReport -
went for chirtmas dinner, chef did a good job but service was slow (food arrived lukewarm) and some staff members quite cheeky, not what we expected.

Had a fairly mundane lunch in here. Won't be going back for food but excellent bar.
