The hectic craft of kneading and folding pizza dough is the first thing you see on entering this busy Leith Walk eatery. Walk past the front counter, through the lively, three-pronged dining area, and you'll notice most diners are working their way through large disks of Italy’s most famous food export. Many argue that La Favorita serves the finest pizza in Edinburgh and it’s hard to disagree. Log-filled ovens imbue a gloriously smoky flavour while cooking the base to a crisp, not brittle, texture. A mammoth sharing platter of cold meats, cheeses and olives is a fine way to start, if not a little over the top in quantity. A cinque formaggi pizza is enough to make any cheese lover drool. Other dishes understandably fall into the shade of the output from the woodburning ovens, but why choose steak when the pizzas are this good?

My favourite pizza in Edinburgh. Fresh, tasty and big enough to let me leave ALWAYS one or two slices of pizza. I definitely prefer to pay a bit more and go there. Delivery service is a bit slow but I can guess it depends on the high number of customers. VFM

Great pizzas.....when they get them right!!! Over the past year I've had more wrong deliveries from this place than any other, at home, at friends' houses......almost every single time in fact.
Wrong toppings, extra unwanted toppings, NO toppings, pizzas missing, burnt, freezing cold, you name it.
When they DO get your order right, the pizza base is unbeatable, the staff are always friendly (and apologetic!) and do their best to bring you the thing you actually ordered very quickly.

We've never been to the restaurant but we have ordered pizzas from them before. Delicious pizza bread and a selection of toppings that goes miles further from your typical pepperoni and ham and pinapple.
Simply, the best pizzas I've ever had in Edinburgh.

I can't believe no-one has posted here yet!
I've been going to La Favorita for three years. The pizza is simply sensational. I lived in Italy for five years, and the pizza in La Favorita is up there with some of the best pizzas I had in Rome and Naples.
If you love pizza, a visit to La Favorita will mean that you'll never eat pizza anywhere else in Edinburgh ever again.
