Since opening seven years ago, this shop has become a food lover's Mecca, complete with impressive assistants who truly know their stuff. Office workers looking to find their evening's sustenance flock to the deli counter, which holds the day's selection of re-heatable morsels to take away. One such dish might be the monkfish and king prawn tagine, which contrasts delicately spiced couscous with firm chunks of meaty fish. Such substantial fare is backed up with an array of lighter dishes, such as a fennel salad with orange and lemon, which has a fresh flavour and packs a satisfying, zesty crunch. With shelves stacked high with rare and beautiful food stuffs, and a mezzanine brimming with trendy West Endies sipping lattes, the interior is intimate, rustic and has just a hint of a French deli in its sophistication and passion, yet is intrinsically local and unique.
