It's stacked floor to ceiling with a mesmerising array of jars, bottles, tins and boxes of varying colours, sizes, and scents, so entering Heart Buchanan is like walking into a food-themed apothecary. Alongside carefully sourced specialist ingredients, Heart Buchanan's heart, if you will, resides in its fine line of takeaway meals for the more discerning microwave user. Stuffed artichoke with rocket and garlic breadcrumbs is a deliciously crunchy show-stopper, while French bean salad with walnuts and pomegranate is delicately spiced and wonderfully decadent. There are plans to expand both the shop and the café about to get underway, alongside hopes to have a sauce shop and in-store bakery up and running by summer 2007, so you won't need to go back to the fancy corner supermarket anytime soon.
