Among the red sandstone tenements of Clarence Drive sits a clutch of shops, complete with a butcher, a baker and Casa Blanca. Here, Hyndland locals can choose from a menu that caters for most desires. The options traverse the globe, and include pizzas, pastas, curries, burgers, barbecues and baked potatoes, as well as all the sundries. The pasta Casa Blanca is made with a rich Napoli sauce, infused with onions and thickened with egg yolk – a simple yet tasty takeaway supper. Inside the small, spotless interior lies a gleaming counter with friendly staff behind it. The shiny mirrors, decorative oil and vinegar and black leather-clad stools all give the impression that this is a takeaway with an upmarket edge.
