The humble fish supper is a staple of British cuisine and yet it's often difficult to find a good one. The owners of this takeaway have been in the business for over 70 years, however, and they are aware that there's a lot more to the art of the battered fried fish than meets the eye. But it's not just that: few may realise that the shop is owned by the same family that run the La Parmigiana next door, purveyors of the finest Italian fare. Hence, in addition to an array of fish suppers (which includes the surprising options of trout and salmon), the pastas and pizzas are perhaps the unsung heroes of the Philadelphia menu.
