Tucked away near the top of Queen Margaret Drive, the Village Balti House is a halal curry emporium with an extensive selection of spiced sauces that might leave you feeling a little dizzy. Vegetarians will be reassured to know that dishes such as spinach curry with potato are cooked without animal fat or chicken stock, and that the chefs make sure they use separate utensils when preparing vegetarian food. For carnivores, all the curry standards are offered, but the more adventurous will be rewarded if they opt for a speciality dish. The hungry bargain hunter will also be pleased to see set meals from £5.50.
