Now owned and run by its former chef and his wife, India Today gives you the chance to take a culinary tour of India with a single phone call. Choosing typical dishes from each region of the country, the menu is bewilderingly large, but, thankfully, each comes with detailed notes about its ingredients and origin. A large proportion of customers are vegetarian or vegan, and proprietor Mrs Hussein is proud of India Today's willingness to produce veggie/vegan versions of nearly all its dishes. The bhindi bhajee is spiced with an even hand, the okra still lightly crunchy and with a pleasing lack of oil, while the lamb pasanda melts in the mouth and leaves a buttery aftertaste that ensures every scrap of sauce will be scooped up with the light, fragrant naan.

Sadly the food here is really hit and miss. Sundries (pakoras, bhajis) were good, while the main curries varied from Chanderi Rashun Mirch Chicken being made with flaccid, rubbery chicken with a bland tomato sauce, to a fairly standard Pasanda that was nothing special. If this is them at their best I'd try one of the other many Indian restaurants in Morningside.

This is the best Indian take-away I have ever had. We have been ordering from India Today for 8 years and have eaten many different dishes from their menu. We are always very happy with their delicious food and it is definitely a treat worth sampling!

Been coming here for my takeaways since moving to Morningside 3 years ago. Never had a bad meal and love the selection of food available, most of which I had never heard of before. MUssourie Dahl Chicken is fantastic but if you like things a bit hotter, the Chanderi rashun Murch Chicken cannot be beaten. Would never dream of going anywhere else for my Curry needs.
