L'Aquila Bianca is the grand old dame of Edinburgh chippies, with a shelf full of awards and numerous press clippings adorning its pristine walls. This Stockbridge favourite attracts punters from across the city as a result of the quality of both its food and service. The menu is essentially split between Italian cuisine and fried food, with the latter seeming to be the main draw for customers. The fish is crisp and golden, and the chips are clearly the product of over 30 years' experience. Unlike many of its competitors, it has a pleasant waiting space, with views of vibrant Raeburn Place and stools on which to rest. For those not wanting to pop in, a delivery service, including wine and beer, is available for all orders over £10.
