With the exception of the fair-trade coffee, Made in France does exactly what it says on the tin. The proprietors know just how many beans make haricot and pride themselves on offering good value for money. A wide choice of delicious cheeses cry out to be enclosed in the embrace of a rustic baguette, perhaps embellished with ham, salad or mayonnaise. A small but tempting selection of hot savouries major in croque monsieur, mini-quiche, crepes and characterful soups. Most of the food on the menu, as in the deli section, is sourced from individual small traders and artesan food-producers in Paris's Rungis Market, Paris, and the Francophile couple who own Made in France sample what they purvey. Everything, from the wines to the poppyseed-strewn chocolate, and from the duck confit to the subtly nuanced mustards, must pass the ultimate test – their taste–buds.
- High point: Focused, friendly service
- Low point: High stools that may be a challenge for some
