Although it punts itself as a relatively upscale grill, the restaurant at Tiger Tiger (whose sprawling premises in a three-storey complex include several bars and a club) essentially just does standard pub grub in formal surroundings. Prices are fairly reasonable, so for a decent and laid-back place for a bite to eat – served promptly and with minimum fuss – it's not to be sniffed at. The cuisine is less a fusion than an arranged marriage of East and West: crispy duck and hoisin sauce are paired with pancakes as a starter, while steaks and fajitas sit in the list of main courses next to curries, noodle dishes and spicy tamarind tiger prawns. Amid this breadth of options, the overcooked Aberdeen Angus burger arrives with crispy fries in smoky Cajun spices. The desserts are arguably the best things on the menu. Sesame battered banana or the New York baked cheesecake, which is served sprinkled with icing sugar and a drizzle of raspberry coulis, are highlights.
- High point: Quick service
- Low point: Scented candles

With the understanding that Tiger Tiger was an upmarket trendy bar/restaurant I nervously entered with a bulging wallet taking my girlfriend for lunch. She was pleased to see that on departure I had plenty money left for her to spend. Tiger Tiger offered fantastic value and the bill at the end was no dearer than any other pub lunch. Having a soft spot for lunch at All Bar One in Glasgow I would say that lunch at Tiger Tiger matched if not surpassed that of ABO however was substantially cheaper!Service was excellent, we have since returned and one particular member of staff remembered us from the first time which was pleasing. Although we only wanted hamburger and chips the menu has a wide range of selection at more than reasonable prices. 2 hamburgers and chips plus a couple of drinks was less than £15. I felt quite embarrassed that I had not spent enough and told the waitress to keep the change off a £20 note!
