Slightly adrift from the hustle and bustle of Byres road, Mr India’s could possibly be overlooked when considering an Indian meal in the West End, but to those in the know it is worth making a trip for some solid, tasty cooking. Although the room is basic in design, it feels warm and comfortable – a genuinely relaxed atmosphere. Service is professional at all times, and knowledgeable staff are always happy to help with any queries customers may have. As the name suggests, dosas and baltis are the speciality here. The dosa, a South Indian speciality, is served as both starter and main course – crisp yet chewy pancakes with a rich butter taste stuffed with a variety of fillings such an addictive chicken masala, sweet with a hit of pungent spice. Seafood lovers will find themselves happy when ordering massive king prawns, fried in a light crunchy batter and served with unusual yet refreshing spiced apple and carrot dips. Try the aforementioned balti, with melting lamb pieces, full of green pepper chunks and lashings of aromatic coriander, served in a sizzling cast iron wok-style dish.
- High point: Perhaps the biggest prawns in Glasgow
- Low point: Décor could do with a revamp

Ive been eating curry in Glasgows west end since 1972 and in recent years become extremely disillusioned by the quality of whats on offer despite the fact that there must be at least 20 times the number of restaurants to choose from.
Purely by chance I ended up at Mr India's Balti & Dosa House a few weeks ago and would describe it as nothing short of "The Real Deal". The food is heads and shoulders above ALL the competition, the staff are genuinely friendly, provide a high level of service without making a nuisance of themselves and the general ambiance is warm and inviting. It should be noted that it has been the same chef for the last 12 years........12 days being the norm in so many restaurants these days.
We plumped for the set meal for two at £21.95 and felt that it was exceptional value for money returning last weekend for a second visit. (just to make sure the consistancy was being maintained of course!)
As a parting shot I would say that Mr India's scores so highly with me because they are doing what matters most...........great traditional Indian favs without the kilts and gimmicks.

This is most definately the best in Scotland! have eaten here at least 8 times and has never disappointed me , absolutely mouthwatering, deliciously fresh chutneys, in fact everything tastes freshly made, don't hesitate ... try it ! really friendly staff and excellent service. The only drawback is is doesn't have disabled access. 10/10

We have been coming to this restaurant for a few years now and rate it as THE BEST curry house in Glasgow. The service is extremely friendly and efficient . The food absolutely delicious with generous portions at extremely reasonable prices . Would definitely recommend the King Prawn Tandoori (The biggest prawns ever) and the Lemon Chicken but we have never yet been disappointed with anything we've eaten here ! A hidden gem 10/10
