Although not as conveniently central as its sister restaurant Suruchi (see above), Suruchi Too is a much larger space. As it offers a largely similar menu, those who enjoy the original restaurant's brand of Indian/Scots fusion dining, but who wish to eat out in a large group may find this establishment a better bet. Pakoras, kebabs and rather incongruous haggis fritters sit large on the starter menu, while a well-thought-out list of Indian specialties such as chicken tikka and a rich and creamy butter chicken fight to wrest attention from the Scottish-sourced 'venison maharaja' and salmon feast among the mains. The vegetarian side dishes are worthy of warning for all the best reasons. However, an impressive gobi masala (cauliflower in tomato and onions), for example, is almost the same size as a main. With smoking-hot plates of meat being rushed to surrounding tables, and helpful staff swiftly attending to your needs, there's enough buzz to make it worthwhile staying for the better-than-average selection of desserts - alongside pistachio kulfi and gulab jamun, look out for the slightly more esoteric flavours of cinnamon, chocolate and chilli or almond, cashew and Drambuie ice-cream.
