Perched at the top of Princes Square, Glasgow's luxury shopping centre, November offers diners the choice of eating inside near the cocktail bar or sitting under the centre's striking glass ceiling, which allows for people-watching from the balcony. The menu balances a selection of sandwiches and light bites with more substantial mains, with an emphasis on the cosmopolitan end of pub grub. The pan-fried king prawns served on toasted onion bread is a light starter, with a langoustine sauce making for a fresh alternative to the oily dressings that often accompanying such a dish. Soft and flaky on the inside, the huge beer-battered haddock, served with a portion of skinny fries and tartare sauce, is a substantial main course. The hot chocolate brownie-skewered chopstick with two white chocolate thins makes for a decadent dessert. Family-friendly until 8pm every day, this casual but stylish bar is particularly suitable for the post-shopping spree bites or for a more leisurely meal before hitting one of the city's entertainment venues.
