A low-key doorway leads down from the main drag of Sauchiehall Street to this basement bistro, which has an airy and comfortable atmosphere thanks to uncluttered wooden tables, stripped floors and warm reds. Mirrors on the wall add to the sense of space, and contemporary art supplements the decorative mural of ‘Topolino’ written in sand – a suitably childish touch for the Italian term for Disney’s Mickey Mouse. Topolino’s is a popular stop for lively parties heading into town for a night out, yet it also accommodates couples out for a romantic meal. The absence of pizzas on the menu is compensated by a substantial selection of appetisers, pasta dishes and main courses. Familiar starters include bruschetta, crostini and minestrone as well as generous wedges of deep-fried breaded mozzarella and the house pâté whose savoury flavour is enlived by citrus overtones. Well-executed pasta dishes feature popular classics and plenty of seafood options. The ample choice of meat and seafood main courses sees typically Italian dishes – such as a tender chicken stuffed with a tasty mix of Parma ham, asparagus and mozzarella – rub shoulders with a handful of global choices such as stroganoff, piri piri chicken and Cajun salmon.
- High point: Occasional operatic song from the host
- Low point: Lumpy mash

Topolino'sReport -
good food, friendly staff and well priced but didnt offer pizza but it made up for it in the pasta dept....a comment made by the user about no italians in sight....well most italian, or should i say restaurants in general in glasgow, have very cosmopolitan staff. I like that, it shows a company is an equal opportunities employer.

Food was first class and superb value, staff could not be more helpful and even adapted the set menu to suit individual tastes. The singer enhanced what was already a great atmosphere.Definitely going back.
