This review is taken from the current (2011) edition.
With its prime location opposite the Playhouse, Giuliano’s has been feeding theatre-goers for two decades. It looks a little dated with worn carpets but remains popular with the early evening crowd that fills this surprisingly large space. It’s not a place for people looking for purely authentic Italian food, for example pizzas come topped with chicken, even ham and pineapple, but what it does do very well is efficiently serve large groups. The menu offers a long list of antipasti, pasta dishes, meats and fish. A starter of king prawns wrapped in parma ham is packed with robust flavours. The bread used in the crostino lacks a little crispness but the topping of chopped artichokes, aubergines and peppers is full of garlicky taste. House specialities of lamb cutlets are well presented and perfectly cooked, a ham shank falls off the bone and comes with a satisfying broth and beans. Puddings of strawberry cheesecake and banoffee pie are fine but have the taste and appearance of catering supplies.
- High point: Efficient, well run restaurant
- Low point: Disappointing puddings

Giuliano'sReport -
Don't bother with this place...average food and arrogant staff..we were sneered at upon arrival and given the impression that we were'n't expected even though we'd booked...we were shown to a table at the back of a fairly empty restautant, then waited a full 10 minutes or more b4 anyone showed up at our table to take our drinks order, let alone food! We should have listened to our friends...they warned us about the 'attitude' here...however, we like to make up our own minds...we won't ever be back! Why do so many restaurants in this country get away with treating their patrons this way? The managers should visit the States and learn the art of customer service... even the most basic roadhouses there offer a superior level of service!
