Rich green walls, a caramel carpet and light streaming through windows certainly appeal to the ladies and gentlemen who lunch upstairs in La P’tite Folie, Randolph Place. Or maybe they come for the food. The menu, which is shared with its bistro-style sister in Frederick Street, features a variety of French and French-inspired dishes. There are mussels and soups or a smooth chicken pâté with salad for starters. In addition, for dinner, try a sunburst of boudin noir and intensely flavoured sautéed apple surrounding leaves dressed with sherry vinaigrette. Mains include rich boeuf bourguignon, salmon on a bed of robust red wine risotto or pan-fried sea bass. Do leave room for desserts like pistachio and honey cheesecake, a crisp but chewy base with crushed nuts mixed through the mascarpone topping, or a more traditional French apple tart. There’s a good cheese plate, and a choice of predominantly French wines to wash it down – and you can acquaint yourself with them properly in the attractive Le Di-Vin wine bar next door to the Randolph Place venue.

Was expecting so much more for £26 for 3 courses.
Undercooked Mussels for the starter
Burnt potato fondant thing for main, the duck was excellent though
Dessert was good though, Stick Toffee Pudding.Would I recommend it, absolutely not so many more restaurants serve better food than this.

We have eaten here before and have enjoyed the food and the atmosphere but last nights meal at La P’tite Folie - (The Little Madness), was very disappointing. Despite friendly service we felt the food was not good value for money - very small portions, lacking quality... we finished our single bottle of house wine, cut to the coffee and made our retreat at £26 per head! ... a little mad if we return?

La Petite Folie in 61 Frederik Street is the perfect exemple that things can change... I heard about the new Head-Chef, and I was very surprised.
Menu : Clever and appetising, beautifully presented ; Service : Professional and efficient.
Nonetheless, it would be churlish not to admit that overall it has been a very, very good meal, and reasonably priced...A new adress where I run... Crazy ? Definitely Not.
