This review is taken from the current (2011) edition.
Occupying a steadily gentrifying section of Argyle Street, Thai Siam is a neighbourhood favourite with a friendly atmosphere. The décor is a bit curry house circa 1990, plus large wall reliefs of the Buddha and the menu also appears to have stayed the same for a good while. But hey, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. There’s a range of starters here that go beyond the satay and tempura – a traditional salad contains a few fresh herbs and those soft and wavy pieces of chicken that somehow only appear in Thai salad and soup, all soaked in a fiery dressing while tod-mun kao-pord, or corn cakes, are tasty if a little oily. But the mains are tip top. A mild veg massamun curry is has a good peanut and coconut balance and the king prawn green curry is overflowing with giant curly prawns. This could be the best prawn green curry in town. Portions are whopping and staff don’t appear to mind diners sharing dishes so don’t feel afraid to save a few bob by doubling up. Not that you’d need to – good prices here are also a plus.
- High point: Big, fat curly prawns
- Low point: Oily corn cakes

Just read the main review above and have to say it does not do the place justice. Ok, it would not win any design awards but as quite a dedicated couple when it comes to eating out we have found this place to be the best place for consistantly good Thai food in Glasgow.
I would say if you have not been befor you should really give this place a go.

Absolutely cracking restaurant. Easily one of the best places in Glasgow for food, comfort and service. The Yum Gai is fantastic. Highly recommended by just about everyone I know who has eaten there. Can be a little quiet early on - but definitely worth it for the good value pre-theatre menu. Top marks.

Having spent quite a bit of time in Thailand, this place gets my stamp of approval. The Tom Kha Gai is amazing. It can get a bit crowded but great service and great food make up for it. It stands head and shoulders above any of the other Thai restaurants in Glasgow.
