This review is taken from the current (2011) edition.
Viewed from outside the twinkling fairly lights in the windows belie the more masculine grandeur inside this popular grill room. The long dark bar and booths of the cocktail area lead past a stretch of kitchen, with an open pass that smokes and hisses, to the dining area that is a feast of black leather, dark wood and shimmering glass chandeliers. At any time you might be dining among an array of suited corporate types or even the occasional top name footballer. The menu is equally macho, having a good go at serving up everything you might imagine from a grill room. Starters have a Mediterranean or Far Eastern feel with baked cheeses, mussels or duck spring rolls or chunky Thai fish-cakes with a sesame-oil dressed salad. But the grill's the star, turning out all manner of rose pink steaks from farms listed on the menu down to the postcode. Even more interesting is the beautiful ostrich fillet served in a nest of red cabbage. You’ll get what you pay for and it's unlikely you'll be disappointed.
- High point: Private window area seats 20 for conspicuous consumption
- Low point: You might get upstaged by a footballer

Never mind how they do their beef, lobster, etc etc etc .
They cant even do the basics.£4.00 for a Nesquick milkshake, absolute garbage.
And lucky if it was 1/4 pint of milk.
My kids can make better ones !!!Its a glorified "Aberdeen Steakhouse" and look what happened to that.
It seems to me that all the hype is a case of The Emperors New Clothes.
What now are football players part time food critics ??
Oh !! Henrik McCoist eats there it must be good.Give me a £4 burger from McD's anyday of the week.
At least you know your buying excrament.

Went for the first time to celebrate my 1st wedding anniversary, won't be back for the second. My husband enjoyed his duck spring rolls but I was disappointed with the garlic prawns. For £9 I got 5 prawns which I feel should have been used as an ingredient and not as a starter as they were small. I had the ribeye and my husband had the sirloin steak. He asked for his to be medium cooked and I asked for mine to be medium to well done. As my husband said "thank goodness we ordered sauce", as they were both dry. I find ribeye steak usually very tasty but not in this case. The price of the meal certainly did not reflect on the standard of the food. Not to be totally negative our waiter was very pleasant even though we struggled to hear each other as it was quite noisy.

We visited the grill on the corner after reading good reviews and we were not disappointed. I ordered the carpaccio because I'd never tried it, was probably a mistake as I wasn't keen but thats just me, my partner had the spring rolls which he said were gorgeous. For mains I had half a lobster and he had rib eye as wasnt prepared to pay £55 for the kobe on our first occasion here but he said the steak was probably the best he had had in the area so next time will definitely be trying it. My lobster was ok but a little overcooked. The blueberry cheesecake more than made up for it though. The staff were very good and chatted away, we were served by a young girl called Lynsey.

What can I say? It has been 15 hours since I had the last beautiful bite of food presented by Grill On The Corner. Yes, the menu certainly is not the cheapest but it is DEFINATELY worth the extra.
I started with the Goats Cheese and Pinapple Salad which was fresh, light and bursting with flavour. My friend had the "Old School" Prawn Cocktail and it was the fanciest prawn cocktail I have ever seen (not presented in a little glass with a couple of bits of lettuce).
For mains, we both opted for the Ostrich on a bed of caramalised onions which was absolutely devine. The meat was cooked exactly as we asked for and was rich and smokey. As advised by our excellent server Cat/Kat (a credit to the establishment) we ordered sides to accompany our meal. My Bok Choi was crispy, refreshing and my friend's chips were well cut with skins still on...deliscious!
With a little room left for pudding I went for the banoffi pie which was rich, sweet and melted in your mouth. My only complaint here was that I could have eaten more of it! My less adventurous friend opted for the trio of ice cream which apparently was to die for!
The devine food on offer is just one aspect of visiting Grill on the Corner. You receive a warm, friendly and genuine welcome. Cat/Kat was fantastic at striking the balance between being attentive and also leaving you in peace which is fantastic. Top marks all round. Highly recommended.
Bill for 3 courses,2 sides, 1 bottle of wine, 1 soft drink and 1 cocktail £94.

My husband took me here for my 30th last night. It was sublime. We really splashed out and ended up with a rather large bill but it was totally worth it, especially for a special celebration.
There are affordable dishes and drinks also so i dont think it will be our only time.
Special mention to our server Jenny who was fantastic and friendly, the food was some of the best i've tasted (my husband had the kobi steak and LOVED it) the wine was gorgeous and overall after 4 hours i still didnt want to leave. Highly recommended.
