Lodged on the cobbles of the West End’s Cresswell Lane, Bar Budda has established itself as a sports-bar-come-restaurant and, more recently, a late-night food haunt. Serving up high-quality pub food until 2am at the weekends, Budda boasts a menu of mostly burgers, pizzas and sandwiches, all cooked to an impressively high standard. The pizzas come fresh, rustic and Italian-style, and are reasonably priced at just around £7 each. A lunch menu runs throughout the week for just £5, which allows diners to sample dishes from the evening menu at a lower rate. With a drinks selection which boasts a list of worldwide wines and beers, and a cocktail list that doesn’t shy away from fresh fruit and slightly less-celebrated liqueurs, Budda’s focus on high-quality is evident. Whilst the restaurant area can get a bit crammed when particularly big sports events are showing, Budda is well worth a visit. It successfully balances quality and affordability.
- High point: Impressive cocktail list
- Low point: Outdoor dining area is a bit slapdash

I've been living in this area for a year and this place is just 2 minutes away, but had never been - until tonight. What a waste of a year!
Excellent food at very reasonable prices, with varied selection. 2 course meal for 2 with wine for 35-40. Very relaxed, with a chillout eastern ambiance. Cool, without being pretentious. Service was efficient and friendly. I heard that it can get very crowded from time to time, as they screen big sports events, but I will definitely be making this place a regular haunt of mine, whether for a meal or a just a drink.
10 / 10 in my book.
