Eating & Drinking Guide

The 2011/12 edition of The List's Eating & Drinking Guide is out now – only £5.95 (+p&p).

This kebab shop is such a Tollcross institution it seems as if it has been around since the beginning of time. The staff are always polite and helpful, although this doesn't matter in the slightest to the shop's many loyal customers, who come for the food and, for the most part, the renowned kebabs. It has often been said that Efes serves the best kebabs in the city, and, that's certainly hard to disprove. Its classic donor kebabs are stuffed full of lamb or chicken, salad and as much dressing as the heart desires, be it chilli or garlic sauce. There's also plenty of choice for those with different tastes - crispy pizzas, juicy hamburgers and freshly fried chips.

Does what it says on the tin - a great Kebab, everything looks nice and clean, and its been there for ages, with lots of regulars.

Actually come to think of it I bought my very first kebab there 17 years ago!

Efes rules! A warm and welcome stop-off on the way home after a night out with friends where a tender sheesh kebab with a stack of salad and fries just hits the spot. Yum.
