Though a long-time presence on the West End scene, Trevi has changed hands a few times in recent years. Current manager Francesco Campo (formerly of Bar Milano and Gambrino's) is aiming to bring a little Sicilian sunshine to this Kelvinbridge spot. The warm yellow walls are a good start, while the ornate framed paintings and polished wooden furniture make for a handsome dining area. The menu does not stray far from traditional pizza combinations and pasta dishes, while there are some not-strictly-Italian items included, too, such as the spicy barbecued chicken wings starter. The Sorrento pizza has plenty of sliced mushrooms and red peppers, with cured salami circles laid on top of the melted cheese rather than cooked along with the other toppings. The spaghetti carbonara is a faithful rendition of the bacon and cream classic and a side order of garlic spinach is full of flavour. Half a dozen desserts are listed in the menu, including tiramisu and profiteroles. According to management, large bookings may not always be accommodated at weekends when tables are reliably filled by regulars.
- High point: Mediterranean décor
- Low point: Disappointing starter

Trattoria TreviReport -
What a dive. My wife and I went in a a whim as we wandered along the GWR. After ordering our food I asked the waiter if there was an ATM close by (so we could pay with cash and leave a good tip if necessary...that's a laugh!) My question was met with a snear and a shrug of the shoulders. The litre of sparkling water we ordered was brought in a jug, which is obviously a scam to sell cheap water at fancy bottle prices. The food, as someone else has mentioned, is frozen crap. Add this to the atmosphere and the staff, and I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Please please stay away.

I wasnt surprised to read "disappointed customer" today after having the most unpleasant of evenings at this restaurant. Having ordered filleted fish to find it hadnt been filleted at all, I told the waitress who apologised and said, this is the second complaint this evening about that and took my plate away. My wife was eating another of their specials and I said I would have the same. She had started eating hers and I just had to sit there waiting for mine. When mine arrived, my wife had finished hers. It was our wedding aniversary and this had put a damper on the evening. Because of this, we decided we wouldnt have anything else. The bill arrived and we were disappointed they hadnt reduced this in view of the inconvenience and we told the waitress. She said she needed to speak to the manager. She came back and offered £4 discount on a bill of £47. We said we were insulted. The manager came to the table. We explained and he said that was the most he was willing to offer. He then involved people from the next table by shouting over to them, they were so close he didnt need to shout, however he did and said to them that when he got something wrong with them, what did he do and they said they got desserts for free. We said, we werent offered anything. However, the best is still to come!!! He let the whole restaurant know there was a problem and told us to sit down while he called the police. We had cash in our hands and said we would pay the bill but not the whole amount. He said we must pay the whole bill, not including the £4 and stood at the door. When we tried to get our coats he pulled my wifes from her and told us to sit down. We waited for a while and decided to pay the bill as we felt threatened. What an anniversary. I called the police the next day and they said he hadnt called them. I wonder who he called!! They are reporting his behaviour to the Licensing Authority, but I wanted it noted in Police records as I believe things could have got very much out of hand and I dont want anything like this to happen to anyone in the future. DONT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT EVER!!!!!

Trattoria TreviReport -
I've been to this trattoria on numerous occasions over the years and it has rarely been as good as it is now under the current management. I find the staff to be friendly and professional, the food to be good and the prices excellent. I recommend the risotto della montagne in particular - it's superb. the pizza's have never disappointed either: Perhaps not quite as good as the 'Brandi' in Napoli but not bad at all. :) can't comment on whether it was microwaved or otherwise as I've never heard that 'familiar ping-ping' in here.
Of course, it's not as authentic as going out for a meal in Parma or Bologna but you will be hard pushed to beat the Trevi for price or quality anywhere else in Glasgow. Other places do it better - but not at such reasonable prices or with such friendly staff.

Trattoria TreviReport -
I really don't know where to start with this one. I visited the Trattoria last night and from the moment I arrived till the moment I left I wished I had ordered a dominoes pizza and stayed at home. As the "chef" was hard at work one could not ignore the familiar "pling pling" microwave noise that should really only accompany an M&S ready meal. Then the food arrived. As mentioned in the above review the "pizza" is cooked independantly of the toppings which were freezing cold, with so little cheese and tomato base I mistook it for a foccacia. Disgusting. I was however happy to pay for the pizza, having started it. What I was not happy about was the attitude of the waiter who, despite having been told that I was not satisfied with my food, charged me for it and then whacked on a compulsory service charge which I believe was more than the standard 10%. When I refused to pay this charge ( having been treated with borderline contempt all night), he became aggressive, shouting so frantically that the only words I could discern were " I am not a slave." Barmy and terrifying. I know that the Trattoria has changed hands fairly recently and it is a shame that such a well-established a restaurant has hit such a low. Giving this one star seems generous given that I left relieved that I had not become a victim of GBH. Avoid like the plague.
