This review is taken from the current (2011) edition.
One of the first Indian restaurants in a city now famed for its spicy food, and a major player in the 1960s Gibson Street scene, Koh-i-Noor is probably the most recognised curry house around with thousands driving by its Charing Cross home daily. Inside is massively ornate – temple-shaped panels frame Indian murals, while a fountain gushes away in the middle of the buffet. Claimed as the first in the city, the popular buffet offers ten mains, lots of starters, and great value. The à la carte is laden with the classics and traditional dishes. Fish pakora is generous balls of haddock, chewy and filling if a tad dense, while desi lamb chops are better – little cutlets smeared in a coarse marinade of yogurt with a hit of rosemary then mint. A main of king prawn karahi is bold and rich – a full-on sauce with smoky depth, while chicken lyallpuri has an up-front heat from fresh green chillis. It is well-rendered, hearty cooking. But with the big buffet teasingly sitting nearby, it's easy to see why most customers choose it.
- High point: Big buffet, late opening
- Low point: Only Tennents on tap

Koh-i-NoorReport -
This place has the most amazing Indian Food in glasgow. Buffet is out of this world - cracking range of choice and two of my favourites - Chicken Tikka Chasni and Chicken Tikka Masala. Put that together with a sweet Rogni Nan........curry heaven!
