Win tickets to Dava Sobel at RBS Museum Talks

National Museum of Scotland’s hugely popular series of RBS Museum Talks continues on 6 July with Dava Sobel, author of the international bestseller Longitude, and we are giving tickets away. RBS Museum Talks offer fascinating insights in to the lives and works of inspiring personalities, through hosted conversations in the National Museum of Scotland. Dava Sobel will be in conversation on the evening with Professor John C Brown, Astronomer Royal for Scotland, and Dr John C Taylor, creator of the Midsummer Chronophage, a clockwork piece of art inspired by 18th century clockmaker John Harrison. Harrison featured as a main character in Longitude, which was adapted in 2000 into a BAFTA-winning TV drama with Michael Gambon. Ms Sobel and Dr Taylor recount how they each drew inspiration for their own work from Harrison and his navigational achievements.
