Southern Fried Festival, Scotland’s biggest festival of American roots music, returns to Perth for the fifth year in 2012 from Friday 27 to Saturday 29 July.

Southern Fried is a little nugget of Americana in the rolling Scottish countryside with international stars and home-grown talent waiting to be prospected! This summer we’re delighted to present the daddy of all songwriters, John Prine, Nashville hit-makers Darrell Scott and Gretchen Peters, emerging left-field acts Lera Lynn and Anaïs Mitchell and the unique voices of Ruthie Foster and Carrie Rodriguez. We celebrate the life and music of Johnny Cash, while R&B veteran Charles Walker and The Dynamites join forces with Niki King and The Elements for a soul explosion!

Taking place in Perth Concert Hall, Perth Theatre and other venues within easy strolling distance, Southern Fried is a super-sized serving of the best in Americana topped with a warm slice of Scottish hospitality!
