Inspired by sci-fi classics from the 1960s and 70s, Pixar have created a post-apocalyptic story set in a future in which the Earth has been abandoned by humankind, where a solitary robot named WALL-E executes his now pointless trash collecting programme. At its heart this is a very sweet romantic comedy, and that's what provides the emotional clout.

Neilston Live! Festival of Neilston Life and Culture

A big old Neilston shindig with a Barfest, local history talks, crafts, ceilidh, tea dance and a village walk with the Walking Theatre Company. There will be carnival celebrations on the Saturday with a cracking line-up of pipers, drummers and dancers from Brazil to Marakesh bringing a taste of Cuba, Africa, Brazil and Scotland to Main Street and Pig Square. There will be live music from Eletricat dancers and Artists in Exile amongst others.
