John Muir Wood and the Origins of Landscape Photography in Scotland

Arguably Scotland's first systematic landscape photographer, John Muir Wood travelled Scotland by steamer documenting the country, as shown in these photographs taken during 1840-1860. Works by Robert Adamson, David Octavius Hill, Thomas Keith, Horatio Ross and WHF Talbot are also displayed to contextualise his output.

Travelling Gallery: ON EDGE

The mobile travelling gallery returns once again with an exhibition centred around the sea. The exhibit which will be travelling around Scotland in a bus features works by various contemporary artists including Thomas Joshua Cooper, Dalziel and Scullion and Charlotte Watters. The tour will start in Penicuik and will be visiting public venues throughout Scotland.
