The Essence of Beauty: 500 Years of Italian Art

A major exhibition showing the stunning range, quality and development of Italian art from the 14th to the 19th centuries. The items have been drawn from the collections of all the Glasgow Museums. Featured artists are Titian, Bellini, Salvator Rosa and Botticelli and there are also outstanding examples of Italian sculpture, glassware and ceramics.

Spring Fling Open Studios 2012

Huge arts and crafts open studios event involving professional artists and craft makers from across Dumfries and Galloway. The weekend is all about visiting studios, meeting artists and makers and seeing them at work, but most artists will also have work for sale. For the first time in 2012 Spring Fling will be a four-day event with approximately 80 artists opening their doors.
