Leith festival Gala Day has become an institution in Edinburgh, with crowds gathering every year to see the pageant (setting off at noon), packed with puppets, bands and dancers, wend its way from Pilrig Park to the Links, where people gather afterwards, whatever the weather, to munch burgers and listen to some funky tunes.
