Cars
Date Location
Racecar Lightning McQueen loses his way en route to the final race of the season and finds himself marooned in the sleepy town of Radiator Springs, which is populated by an array of misfit cars. Despite the many positives, 'Cars' doesn't quite make the highest grade mainly because it's the least original Pixar film yet.

Charlotte's Web
Date Location
Chirpy tot Fern (Fanning) rescues Wilbur the pig from a cruel farmyard fate for lovable arachnid Charlotte to eventually save the day in a bittersweet finale that touches on practical matters of life and death. Somewhere between the cutesy 'Babe' and Orwell's political 'Animal Farm' it should draw in children and nostalgic adults alike.

Nim's Island
Date Location
Adapted from Wendy Orr's popular book about what happens when agoraphobic authoress Alexandra Ryder (Foster) is contacted by winsome brat Nim (Breslin), whose scientist father Jack (Butler) has gone missing. Breslin and Butler adapt well to the frothy postmodern adventure but Foster's attempts at slapstick are embarrassingly crude and obvious, lessening any emotional impact.

Above average DreamWorks animation about an audacious raccoon who fools a family of forest creatures to invade suburbia with unexpected results.

Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones
Date Location
A very slight improvement to 'Episode I', 'Attack of the Clones' suffers from a bad script and sappy acting. Ten years on, the Republic faces a mounting separatist movement, necessitating the introduction of a clone army to assist the overwhelmed Jedi. Coupling this plot-line, romance blossoms between Padme Amidala (Portman) and Anakin Skywalker (Christensen). Flashy special effects don't salvage this tension-less series of bloated action scenes. 'Attack of the Clones' will only please the…

WALL-E
Date Location
Inspired by sci-fi classics from the 1960s and 70s, Pixar have created a post-apocalyptic story set in a future in which the Earth has been abandoned by humankind, where a solitary robot named WALL-E executes his now pointless trash collecting programme. At its heart this is a very sweet romantic comedy, and that's what provides the emotional clout.
