The Accidental Husband (Senior Screening)
Date Location
Talk radio host Emma Lloyd (Thurman) advises one of her listeners to dump her fireman fiancée days before their wedding. Jilted ex Patrick (Morgan) decides to get his revenge on the radio host and her posh, dull husband-to-be Richard (Firth) with comic and romantic results. Solid, likeably old-fashioned romantic comedy with decent performances and a simple predictable script that never overreaches itself.

Daddy Day Camp
Date Location
Unloveable sequel to the equally unlovable 'Daddy Day Care' which hails a new low in Gooding's career. Crude and sentimental, the film relies on bodily-fluid gags that fall well short of the barely-raised bar established by kiddie pratfall comedies such as 'Cheaper by the Dozen'.

Another crapola Working Title romantic drama with Fisher, Banks and Weisz as the ladies in Will's life.

Drillbit Taylor
Date Location
Three school kids who are being bullied hire a bodyguard to protect them in this anaemic comedy, starring a miscast Wilson as the titular protector and directed by Brill, the actor-turned-director who gave us the less than singular joys of 'Without a Paddle' and 'Little Nicky'.

Evan Almighty
Date Location
One-joke comedy about a humble congressman (Carell) who is visited by God (a painfully smug Freeman) and told to build an ark. With animals lining up two by two, Evan is forced to question his maker's mysterious ways during his conversion from straight-laced suit to mystic sage in this tepid religious farce.

Fool's Gold

Witless, plodding rom-com romp that reunites 'How to Lose A Guy in Ten Days' pretty pair McConaughey and Hudson as estranged husband and wife-cum-treasure hunters on the trail of a legendary treasure ship, assisted by Sutherland's dapper billionaire and pursued by Hart's ruthless rapper-gangster. All that glitters is not gold.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall

The Ugly Duckling and Me!

Quirky Danish animated adaptation of the popular Hans Christian Andersen story. Fun but visually disappointing and lacking the humour and innovation of the comparable 'Ratatouille'.

What Happens in Vegas . . .
Date Location
This underwhelming romantic comedy details the love trajectory of Vegas gamblers Joy (Diaz) and Jack (Kutcher), who wake up one morning to find they are married and have also hit the jackpot on the tables. Cue farcical attempts to cheat each other out of the money while falling in love. It's watchable enough, but ultimately just a bit of a dumb waste of time.
