The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
Date Location
In the second instalment of the Narnia films, the Pevensie children are summoned back to Narnia for a slick, fast-paced romp through dark woods, underground caverns and fierce battles. With a simplistic plot, and Caspian (Barnes) reduced to a pretty face, Disney may have finally brought Narnia to the big screen, but for a real journey of the imagination, stick to the books.

The Hidden Fortress
Date Location

The Man Who Would Be King
Date Location
Rudyard Kipling's moral fable on the pursuit of power becomes a rumbustious minor epic in the hands of Huston, Connery and Caine, all at the peak of their powers. Set in India, it tells the uncomfortable but entertaining story of a pair of conmen who find themselves elevated by the locals to a rank far above their natural station, but falling from grace owing to their innate greed. Rollicking good fun.

A sequel to 'Yojimbo' Kurosawa has the eponymous hero dancing a jig round the big would-be samurai boys and cleverly taking the mickey out of the action adventure movies of the time. A stunning climax however.

Yojimbo

Mifune's unheroic and lazy samurai sells his services to two rival factions in a small town and then sits back to watch them destroy each other. Darkly comic exercise in Japanese violence which later served as a blueprint for Sergio Leone's 'For A Few Dollars More'.
