Besides the irresistible high of seeing Portman finding her witchcraft, nothing has much resonance here. It's all bright surfaces with nothing behind them, and the result is flat and inconsequential.

Like life however, the film isn't perfect, the beginning recap is clumsy, the ending is rushed, and the version of feminist power and female solidarity the film peddles is slightly simplistic.
