Taking over the West End of Glasgow each year, the festival treats the ears to a great musical line-up, tantalises all the senses with a carnival and delves into the creative depths of local studios and exhibitions with the Hidden Lane Festival.

RoadBlock Run (formerly Urbanathlon) returns with another race filled with obstacles for runners to negotiate in aid of Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland. Prizes for fastest males, females and teams, as well as a special prize for runners in fancy dress.

If you're going to break yourself by running further and faster than the human body was made to go, you may as well do it somewhere picturesque – and Edinburgh is certainly that (if a little windy at times). Participants run for a variety of charities.

A unique opportunity to get together in teams of 16–20 of your friends, colleagues or family and row across Loch Lomond in a 40ft dragon boat. Each team is asked to raise a minimum of £1000 sponsorship money.
