Our Early Years music classes are aimed at children aged 1 to 2 years old. Classes are led by a team of professional early years music specialists who develop music and imaginative skills, whilst promoting social interaction and independence.

This summer school is inspired by the Kodály and Orff-Schulwerk approach to experiential learning, using singing games and rhymes as a basis for teaching the fundamental elements of music: pulse, rhythm, tempo and dynamics.

The use of additional resources such as puppets, balls and games ensures a fun and interactive environment for children to experience musical activities.

By the end of this course participants should have:

  • Learned fun new activities that they can do at home with their parents/guardians

  • Explored and developed rhythms, tempo and musical dynamics

  • Had the opportunity to socialise and learn with other children

This summer school will be led by a team of highly experienced and passionate professional musicians.

The course offers a fantastic opportunity for parents/guardians and their 1 and 2 year olds to interact in a fun and stimulating environment.

Activities will include knee bouncing rhymes and songs, finger rhymes and songs, tickling rhymes and songs, play songs and lullabies, circle games, discovering instruments and a variety of music listening activities.

These sessions are fully interactive between parent and child.
