Adult Screen Summer School: Short Film Making

This three week intensive course is ideal for people age 17+ who have a passion for film making and want to develop their understanding of the various processes and skills involved in the industry.

By the end of the course you should have:

• gained knowledge of industry standard film production techniques
• taken part in a creative process from inception to finished film
• acquired an understanding of the process of idea and project development
• experienced working in a collaborative and supportive environment

This course will take you through all of the steps required to produce a two minute short film and allow you to experience the skills required in this highly competitive sector. The course is designed to accommodate those who have never picked up a camera before as well as those who have had previous experience but might like to develop their skills in specific areas.

The course is about hands-on film making, but at its core is a thread of critical analysis and self evaluation. This will encourage you to interrogate all of the steps in the film making process as you move towards a completed film.

You will work with Royal Conservatoire staff as well as leading industry professionals in a variety of situations and locations.
