This five-day summer school is designed for young participants aged 5 to 7 years old with an interest in learning drama skills, meeting new people, and having creative fun during the holiday period.
By the end of this project participants should have:
- Developed skills in drama, collaboration and problem solving
- Engaged creatively in the exploration of an unfolding fictional adventure
- Worked as part of a team to be part of a fun and exciting week
A mysterious creature is causing chaos in the city … people have been attempting to fight against it but this just seems to make it grow bigger and bigger. Never fear however, because the brilliant (and clumsy) Professor Poggle is on the case.
She once searched for this creature in the deep Amazon rainforest, and suspects that it would not have come to our city without a good reason.
The professor thinks there is more to this than meets the eye and is recruiting a team to investigate, and take on this mission of epic proportions.
This week-long process drama will challenge participants to investigate our impact on the environment, and work out how to deal with the consequences of our actions. It will also explore the idea of confronting a crisis where we have to find innovative solutions to big problems.
With the support of two experienced tutors the week will be lots of fun as participants are invited to enter the fictional world of the drama. Throughout the course the young participants will build their own team, go on information-gathering hunts, and work together to come up with creative solutions.
