A taster class in monoprinting for those who would like to experiment!
Monoprinting is a method of producing a one-off print made by either drawing directly into an inked surface and pressing paper on top or by drawing onto the back of paper which is laid over a thin layer of ink.
Taking inspiration from the Classical Greek etchings on show in the current exhibition, students learn the basic techniques of monoprinting, experimenting with a range of coloured inks and marking tools to create their own prints.
This printing method is immediate, satisfying and simple. It can also be messy, so it's best to wear old clothes!
This class is part of the Moray Art Centre's Masters and Champions summer events programme.
