A chance to learn the magic behind dubstep at a three-day workshop that explores all aspects of the genre's construction and builds up to creating an Olympics-themed recording. Ages 12–16.

Over three sessions we will create an original dubstep theme for the Olympics with visual projections! We will use the industry standard Logic Pro DAW software on Apple Macs to explore sound design, track construction, software instruments, recording live audio, MIDI controllers, song construction and audio effects. We will also be taking field recordings of improvised sounds to incorporate into the track to give it a true Olympics feel! Alongside the sounds, we will take photos of our process, audio representations and project them using R-Kaos.
Throughout the project we will be learning vital skills while creating exciting contemporary sounds and visuals.
This class is part of the Moray Art Centre's Masters and Champions summer events programme.
